Surani Wickramaratna is a Partner in our Intellectual Property ("IP") practice. Her extensive experience in the field of IP law has been verily appreciated by her local and international clients. Surani also regularly advises clients on matters relating to IP related litigation and enforcement, as well as corporate and commercial transactions. She was called to the Bar as an Attorney-at-Law of the Supreme Court of Sri Lanka in 1999.

Current Practice

Surani provides comprehensive advice to numerous domestic and international clients on various IP matters such as the protection and prosecution of trademarks, patents and designs, anti-counterfeiting actions and infringements of IP rights. She is renowned for her expertise on trademarks, patents, copyright, designs, domain names, technology transfers, and branding.

She regularly advises a varied clientele that consists of large multinational companies, pharmaceutical corporations, banks and other financial institutions including and other local and international firms.

Other Relevant Experience

She also advises clients on broader matters such as brand development and other corporate & commercial matters from IP related viewpoint. Her experience in dealing with clients on an international scale has served to widen her legal perspective and she is always appreciative of the long-term objectives of her clients, when advising and assisting them.
